BIOGRAPHY
What inspired you to write this book? Growing up as a child in Africa, I remember being taught and guided through traditional proverbs and wisdom. This early exposure to this form of guidance has lived with me all my life as I would imagine millions of other people out there today. Many years later, while working full time, I started my own home based part time business. In doing this, I discovered that in order to be successful, one has to subscribe to a paradigm shifting change in self and business perception. This, I found was facilitated by personal development.  In the course of my pursuit of self improvement, I noticed there was a prevalent pattern where all the authorities and experts in this field either used or related to ideas from the Bible. My pastoral background made this easy for me to see. So I began asking myself the question “How much does the Bible actually say about success and business and would it still relate to a modern world?” In answering this question, I have discovered that the Bible does actually say a lot, and what it says is still relevant today. I have highlighted 10 keys that I personally have found very helpful and have lived by and applied to my business. I am positive that many will find them helpful as well. However, be aware that I have only touched the tip of the iceberg as there are far more enriching resources in the ancient wisdom represented in the Bible and is there for anyone who is curious enough to find them. What do you want readers to take away from your writing? What I would like readers to take away from my book is a definitive confidence that success can be a certainty when the right attitude is combined with the right source of information, mixed with belief.
Summarize your book in one to three sentences. Ancient Principles for Success is a self help business book with an original take in this particular genre. It explores ten principles for success that have been true principles for eons.  Taking each principle and showing its legacy in the Bible’s ancient texts. What is the overall theme of your book? The overall theme of the book is that the pursuit and achievement of success and wealth is not an uncharted endeavour. It teaches that others have walked the path before us and have left a legacy of clues and information to help us achieve our goals even today.    Why do you think that this book will appeal to readers? There is an African proverb that goes (rough translation) – “Half a word is enough for a child of character. Once received, the word becomes whole.” If you like me are fascinated by and drawn to wisdom, then it is guaranteed that you would find Ancient Principles for Success quite tantalizing. As a guide for life and business, readers will find it easy to follow, understand and  a great reference book to return to over and over again. How is your book relevant in today’s society? Anyone who has ever been involved in any form of social activity would be aware of how people use familiar sayings such as “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.” “You would reap what you sow” and ask questions like “Why do the rich get richer and the poor get poorer?” Although these are all recognized as familiar ice-breakers and conversation makers in today’s society, Ancient Principles for Success exposes the fact that the root of these sayings and questions do not only lie in the past but have also been answered.
Is there a particular passage in your book you’d like us to quote? Since ancient times and straight through to the modern age, those who have understood the value and effectiveness of ancient wisdom have continued to keep it alive today. Champions of ancient wisdom exist amongst authors, mentors, and motivational speakers, such as John Maxwell, Zig Ziglar, Denis Waitley, Brian Tracy, and of course the late Jim Rohn all very successful and highly sought-after trainers, motivational speakers, and writers. All these individuals focus their attention on the current corporate and business world, and all are fervent advocates of the ancient principles still so easily accessible today. The value of ancient wisdom is so blatantly apparent that it would be utter stupidity to ignore it.” – Daniel Oke (Quote from Introduction page – Ancient Principles of Success.)
